Garment Description
Hand beaded 'Bloomsbury' artwork embellished, wrap midi dress.
The dress has contrast black satin piped, curved shoulder yokes and a wrap front neckline of soft pleated georgette which neatly seams into a contrast black satin waist panel.
The back bodice of the dress has a self colour shell coloured satin panel with our signature zig-zag embroidery stitch detailing.
The contrast black satin waist panel is seamed-in around the waist and then extends to form petal ended ties which can be bowed to the back or front side of the dress for closure. There are no buttons or zips, only a thread-through classic wrap tie please note.
The dress has full length balloon sleeves which can be pushed up at the cuff to form 3/4 or bracelet lengths.
The georgette sleeves are gathered into pintucked satin cuffs with matte gold metal ball button cuff closures.
The skirt of the dress is heavily gauged to create a glorious full silhouette with a deep border of hand beaded artwork to finish.
Deep side splits from hem to base of concealed hip pockets.
The dress, with the exception of the translucent sleeves, is fully lined in satin to prevent transparency on the body and to give a sumptuously comfortable finish to the wearer.
Artwork Description
Our Bloomsbury hand beaded artwork is a beautiful mix of by-product leather punched sequins, bugle beads, delicate seed beads, , metallic sequins, miniature pom-poms and lurex stitching.
The design was drawn in London and is inspired by blossom flowers. It is shaped to fit each and every garment silhouette in its own manner. The design is hand beaded by skilled artworkers who work at wooden looms, over which the base fabric has been stretched. With incredible speed and skill they apply every bead and sequin, prior to the panels being cut and carefully sewn together into the finished pieces.
For the gathered panels of the dresses, the immensely talented artworkers place and stitch each motif by eye, onto the final gathered bodice and waist panels which allows no room for error as the piece is already cut and sewn. Our signature contrast piping complete the every garment. These are wearable works of art!
